We set out to build something that would give back to the place that shaped us.
Focal Point Homes was founded with more than the goal of building high‑quality homes. Each of us has deep roots in this region, and our families’ lives are woven into the fabric of Holmes and Tuscarawas County. This community has supported us for generations, and we’re committed to returning that support by helping it grow, thrive, and remain a place future generations are proud to call home.
Between the three of us, we bring over 40 years of hands‑on construction experience. That experience isn’t just a number — it’s hundreds of projects, countless challenges solved, and a shared understanding of what it takes to guide homeowners through a complex process with confidence. We’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and what truly matters to families building a home. Together, we offer a blend of practical knowledge, problem‑solving, and straightforward communication that keeps every project moving with clarity and purpose.

Hello! My name is Jake Hershberger; I live in Sugarcreek, Ohio, with my wife and 3 children.
Growing up in this community, I have come to appreciate the values of honesty, integrity, and hard work. To me, a home is more than just a structure; it's a foundation for family and a cornerstone of the community for generations to come. That is why I strive to bring those values to every home that is built.
My professional journey has always been centered around the art and craft of building: with over 14 years of experience in the construction and manufacturing industry and 5 years’ experience as a production manager at a local factory, I have honed my skills in building and project management. I bring a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality in every project I undertake, ensuring that your dream home is built to last.

Nathan Wagler
Hello, my name is Nathan Wagler. My wife and I are raising our three kids in Sugarcreek. I'm passionate about helping clients bring their ideas to life, and I believe the best way to do that is through honesty, craftsmanship, and a genuine commitment to their goals.
I grew up working alongside my dad at his construction company and around his flooring store, which he's run for more than 30 years. From roofing and siding to cabinets and finish work, I've had hands-on experience in nearly every corner of the industry.
In the 5 years in a leadership role at a large manufacturing company, I learned what it means to see the big picture while maintaining an eye for detail. Combining that experience with five years managing large commercial construction projects—quoting complex jobs, coordinating teams, and solving problems under pressure—I bring a unique skill set that helps people move from "dreaming about it" to actually seeing it built.
I look forward to the opportunity to walk with our customers through the process of building their dream homes.
Greg Moomaw
Howdy — I’m Greg Moomaw, one of the founders of Focal Point Homes. I live in New Philadelphia with my wife, Elle, and our dog, Obi. I grew up just down the road in Sugarcreek, where my family has had roots since the early 1900s. This area shaped who I am, and I’ve always believed there’s something special about the values, work ethic, and sense of community you find here between Holmes and Tuscarawas County. It’s the kind of place where people look out for each other — and the kind of place worth building a life in.
I’ve spent more than a decade in construction project management, working with over 300 families. Most of my background has been in production building, where efficiency, scheduling, and communication aren’t optional — they’re the job. Now, with Focal Point Homes, I’m taking everything I’ve learned at scale and applying it to a more personal, custom-focused experience.
What I enjoy most about building is watching a dream take shape from the ground up. There’s nothing quite like seeing someone stand in a space that used to be nothing more than a sketch on paper. But I also know the reality: building a home, addition, or renovation can feel overwhelming. There are countless decisions, moving parts, and people involved — and without guidance, it can quickly become stressful.
